If a bevy of stars like Rajnikanth, Kamal Hassan, Ajith, Vijay, Surya, Vikram, Jeeva, Dhanush, Simbu and Karthi are all seen together in a film how would it be? It is the same feeling we get when seeing Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Arnold Schwarzenegger and other leading stars in Hollywood. This film was directed by Stallone and the first part released in the year 2010. The sequel has now hit the screens and let’s check out if it satiates the audiences’ expectations.

Stallone heads a gang of very talented people capable of doing all illegal work. America’s top businessmen, politicians and even the intelligence officers seek their help in issues which cannot be resolved legally.Bruce Willis, a police officer, meets Stallone and hands over a very confidential job to be done. The police officer offers an ultimatum to Stallone that if completes this task successfully, all cases on him and his gang would written off and they would be free forever.

 
The job entrusted to Stallone is to bring a box from an airplane that has crashed in a mountain. If any mistake is made in retrieving this box, the entire plane would go up in flames within a minute, warns the police officer. When Stallone completes the task with his accomplice Maggie and the rest of the gang they are in for a shock to find the villain holding one of Stallone’s men as captive. The villain, Van Damme, demands the box from them and offers to release the captive if he does so. Believing his word, Stallone hands over the box to the villain only to see him kill the captive and run away with the box. This makes Stallone wonder what the box contains.

 
 
 
 
 
 
The mystery lies behind what the box contains and the majestic move taken by Stallone and his team to battle with Van Damme henceforth saving the world from the disastrous end.Though there is nothing new in the story, the director has told it very interestingly. The action sequences are more in number when compared to the prequel.

 
Further, Arnold, who was seen in just one scene in the prequel, is seen in quite a few scenes this time.
 
The biggest plus of this film is that the director has made use to every star to the fullest. Jason’s sword fight, Arnold’s sudden entry, the lone hunter Chuck Norris, Stallone’s brilliant gun fight, Maggie’s intelligent movements, Van Damme and Stallone’s climax fight, etc., make this film a feast for action film lovers.

Stallone has managed to capture the attention of the audiences not just with action but with dialogues as well. For example, when the other stars kill the enemies faster than Arnold, he wits “Everyone has emerged as a hero within the short gap i had left” and in the climax when Bruce Willis presents an old aircraft to Stallone he says that it should be kept in the museum to which Arnold chips ‘even us’. These dialogues had the audiences roar with laughter in the theatre.

 
Looking into the negative aspects, it is illogical scenes that loom large. But this seems to be insignificant when compared to the action sequences and humorous dialogues.

 
Verdict : Action lovers can certinaly see this film once for sure!

However the film is yet to go on floors and work will take place in a full swing only after Kamal Hassan wraps work on Viswaroopam, his magnum opus flick that’s touted to grace screens come October.

 
Surya is sure enjoying teaming up with the best of film artists, for he is currently part of KV Anand‘s Maatraan, the biggest project in his career, Thupariyum Anand with Gautham Menon that’s a period film and ‘Singam 2‘ with Hari.

India

The 4th installment in the highly popular Ice Age series has achieved the total box office collection of Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs in just 1 weekend, a feat matched by no other country in the world! This marks a huge achievement for Fox Star India as Ice Age 3, released in 2009, was the first film to penetrate beyond the usual target audience of kids, and was the biggest animated grosser back then.

Ice Age 4 is the first animated film to be dubbed in Tamil and Telugu, apart from Hindi and is the first animated film to break out in the dubbed markets, especially Tamil and Telugu. The fun family film has given Fox star Studios their biggest opening in 2012 (Hollywood)!

Speaking on the successful opening of the 3D flick says Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios, “We are delighted with the response of Indian audiences to Ice Age 4 ,making it the biggest opening of all time for an animation film in India !”

 
Swaroop Reddy, Director, Sathyam Cinemas says “It’s the first time any Hollywood studio has shown the courage to dub an animation film into Tamil and Telugu, and backed it with outstanding marketing. Never thought the response will be so phenomenal. It’s opened up a new market for animation films in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.”

 
In fact in some markets like Bangalore and in the South, the 3D flick has opened even bigger than Kya Super Kool Hain Hum and Hollywood’s much hyped The Dark Knight Rises, with the local dubbed versions doing phenomenally well.

 
Well looks like the success of Ice Age 4 is all set to usher in a brand new era of animation films in India!

Revealed Sunny Leone in an interview, “My husband has been getting good proposals from this industry. There are few people who have approached him and want both of us together in a film.”

 
However the sizzling actress also added that as of now, Daniel is just considering the acting option and perhaps might give nod to some project soon. Sunny next has Ekta Kapoor‘s ‘Ragini MMS‘ in her kitty.

 
Incidentally, Daniel helps Sunny Leone in choosing the films and said to read scripts and gives suggestions before she signs the dotted lines.

One of the roles played by Vikram in this film is that of a blind man and director AL Vijay had drawn inspiration for this particular role from Daniel Kish. Vikram came to know about echo-location and how it helps the visually challenged to carry on a normal life just like the others.

 
Speaking at this event, Daniel Kish said that he runs a network known as the World Access for the Blind which conduct workshops throughout the globe to help the visually impaired benefit from echo-location.
