Alec Baldwin & Steve Martin Set To Host Oscars

Steve Martin won an Emmy Award nomination for hosting the 73rd Academy Awards and returned to take charge of the 75th event, but Alec Baldwin has never fronted the big show.

Making the announcement today, new Oscar telecast producers Bill Mechanic and Adam Shankman stated, "We think the team of Steve and Alec are the perfect pair of hosts for the Oscars.

"Steve will bring the experience of having hosted the show in the past and Alec will be a completely fresh personality for this event."

Martin jokes, "I am happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy Alec Baldwin," while The Cooler star Baldwin added, "I'm thrilled to be hosting the Oscars. It's the opportunity of a lifetime."

Baldwin was nominated for an Academy Award in 2003 for his supporting role in The Cooler. That year also marked his most recent appearance as a presenter on the show.

The Oscars will be presented on March 7, 2010 at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.

Charitable Jude Law Caught Kissing Mystery Blond

Adding to the evidence that maybe Jude Law and Sienna Miller haven't quite picked up right where they left off, a source from Page Six reveals that the Hamlet actor was spotted making out with an attractive blond woman at The Box on Saturday night.

The snitch claims, "Other guests were trying to talk to Jude, so he got a member of the staff to keep them away while he flirted with and kissed a very pretty blonde."

But when Jude isn't chasing tail or acting on the Broadway stage, he's doing his bit for charity. In fact, here's the British actor attending the Only Make Believe Celebrates 10th Anniversary event.

The non-profit organization creates and performs interactive theater for children in care facilities and hospitals, so we'll give him credit for that.

Lady GaGa & Madonna Are BFFs

OK, so maybe the use of "BFF" is premature, but Lady GaGa has admitted that she forged a friendship with pop icon, Madonna--one that she still can't believe exists.

The twosome may have duked it out in a skit on Saturday Night Live, but in reality, the musicians hit it off behind the scenes.

GaGa told Grazia Australia, "I love her, she's always been an idol of mine and she's been so nice to me--I think I can say now that we're friends, which feels a bit weird." Let's hope she can dethrone boring Gwyneth Paltrow from the top slot on Madge's speed-dial.

TRAILER MIX: Finally, Every Movie Ever… In
Persia

The Prince of Persia is a movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal who plays a Prince in Persia. Pretty self-explanny, right? WRONG. Because this movie happens to be produced by the Sorcerer’s Explosion Apprentice himself, Jerry Bruckheimer. The guy has produced every major action flick for the past 100 or so years, including, we think, this one.

So we were excited to hear that the trailer for Gyllenhaal’s first big action film in a long while was out. But watching it, something looked familiar. Wait, no, EVERYTHING LOOKED FAMILIAR. That’s because The Prince of Persia has managed to incorporate imagery or special effects or similar looking shots from the following list of films:

• The Dark Knight
• Spiderman 3
• Do You Remember The Times — Michael Jackson
• The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
• The Bourne Supremacy
• Wild Wild West
• Every Movie The Rock Has Ever Starred In
