Mario Van Peebles Challenges Teens In New Film
'We The Party'

In his latest film, actor-director Mario Van Peebles challenges teens to question their belief systems in We The Party. The coming of age flick - costarring Snoop Dogg and his son as well as P. Diddy's son - looks at societal pressures and encourages teens to ask: "What gives you recognition with your peers?"

Mario sits down with Celebrity Baby Scoop and opens up about his five children - Maya, 19, Makaylo, 17, Mandela, 17, Marley, 15, and Morgana, 14 - and his new film that was "developed and workshopped with them and around them." He goes on to say fatherhood is his "best role" and adds, "I have always thought that the kids come through you and not from you." Read on about Mario's new film and his best advice for fathers.

Jessica Simpson Welcomes Baby No. 1: Maxwell Drew

Congratulations are in order for Jessica Simpson, 31, and Eric Johnson, 32!

Jessica posted a birth announcement on her personal website writing, "Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby girl Maxwell Drew Johnson. We are so grateful for all the love, support and prayers we have received. THis has been the greatest experience of our lives!!!"

Martin Lawrence Files For Divorce

Martin Lawrence has filed for divorce from his wife, Shamicka, claiming irreconcilable differences. The couple has been together for 15 years total. They started dating in 1997, and eventually married on July 10, 2010. Last week the couple separated, and this week Martin Lawrence has filed for a divorce. This is Martin’s second divorce, he was once married to Patricia Smith, who is now married to Emmitt Smith.

Wow! Shamicka and Martin Lawrence dated for 13 years, but could only stay married for less than two years. They also have two daughters together, Iyanna (11) and Amara Trinity (9). Martin Lawrence has an older daughter with his ex-wife Pat, her name is Jasmine (15). They are all pictured above.  According to TMZ, there is a pre-nup in place.

Out of love and respect for one another, we will continue to remain friends and raise our two beautiful daughters together.

LMBO! Basketball Wives’ Producers Suing Jen
For Trashing The Show

Am I the only person that thinks it’s funny that the producers of Basketball Wives are counter-suing Jen for trashing the show? Is the show not trash? The producers want to file a lawsuit because Jen has been on a media spree calling the show a negative portrayal of African-American women. Again, I ask, Is the show not a negative portrayal of black women? Sounds like this suit needs to be dismissed on its merits already, because there is five seasons of footage that backs up Jen’s claim. Apparently, as a representative of the show, Jen is not allowed to speak out negatively against the producers or the show, even if they set her up to get smacked down  by a non-cast member.

…producers are ready to take their own legal action after Williams went on a media rampage and blasted “BB Wives” alleging the show portrays African-American women negatively.

According to our sources, producers feel Williams’ show-bashing is in violation of her contract — which forbids cast members from doing any media appearances or press without approval, or speaking negatively about the show. ROTFLMBO! They think Jen is ruining the brand of the show by talking to the media. Not Evelyn jumping on tables with no shoes, not Evelyn throwing wine bottles at Kenya, not Tami sucking on sunflower seeds and spitting them out, not No Edges Nia slapping Jen, not Tami stealing Kesha’s purse, and that’s just this season.

The Last Song On The Rock Of Ages Movie
Soundtrack Is Not Real

Much has been said about the forthcoming Rock Of Ages film adaptation, from “Is this real” when we first heard about it to “Seriously, is this real?” when we saw the trailer, but the movie soundtrack was just unveiled, and I really can’t wrap my head around some of these.

Wh..whaaa? That’s a real thing, really recorded on a real album? That people will listen to and be like “Yeah! Sing that song I’m not tired of, Tom Cruise and Russell Brand!”

I just time-traveled back to six months ago and showed that to my past self and my past self was like “WHY ARE ALL THOSE WORDS IN A ROW, that’s can’t possibly be a real thing” and I was like “Oh just you wait!” then I made out with myself and it was actually pretty decent!

Come to think of it, the first track on the album wouldn’t have seemed real either if we’d seen it last year:

1. ?Paradise City? ? Tom Cruise

Are we sure this isn’t just a filmed karaoke night with names of random actors slapped onto the track listing afterwards? I’ve never been more in doubt as to whether or not this is a real movie.
